Composite Bat's are now Banned in Little League

Little League International has placed a moratorium on the use of composite bats in all Little League Baseball Divisions, effective immediately.

The maximum performance standard for non-wood bats is a Bat Performance Factor (BPF) of 1.15. Research found that composite bats, while they may meet the standard when new, can exceed that standard after a break-in process.

Below is a link for your review of Non Wood bats that are approved for use in Little League.

Updated 4/26/2011:

Composite-Barreled Bats (2-1/4 inch barrels) that meet the bat performance factor (BPF) standard, and the accelerated break in (ABI) procedure, are listed below.  This list may have more models added to it as more bats are tested.  These bats are the only composite-barreled baseball bats that have received a waiver and are permitted to be used in Little League, as of April 26, 2011, when this list was last updated by Little League International.
